It’s hard to say what our favorite part of this photo is, the radiant smiles of the boys, the autographs of their favorite players, or perhaps Ivo Karlovic in the background bemoaning another passing shot flying by out of reach. The young German appears to have lost his watch sponsorship. Maybe this explains his “untimely” demise. BB
Inside Tennis founder and publisher Bill Simons sat down with legend Rod Laver for an exclusive interview. MT
Indian Wells has drawn huge crowds for years and is home to generations of fans. BB
Both of Japan’s stars fell against hard-hitting foes…but this time last year, Kei Nishikori was playing on the Challenger circuit. BB
Federer played 40 service games through Friday and has held serve in 39 of them. BB
Canadian fans had plenty to cheer at this years BNPPO. Still in the running are Milos Raonic and teen phenom Bianca Andreescu. BB
Caroline Garcia was all smiles on the practice court, despite her second-round loss to American Jessica Brady. HS
Stan the Man is circling back to Grand Slam form, but ran into compatriot Federer in the third round and lost in a mere 59 minutes. BB
Three Croatians were in the main draw but it was 40-year-old Ivo Karlovic who lasted until the fourth round. BB Despite Osaka’s loss, she’s still the queen of Japan (and the No. 1 player in the world). BB
Djokovic was ousted by Philipp Kohlschreiber, who was promptly beaten down in the next round by Gael Monfils, who withdrew from the next round just before his match against Dominic Thiem. BB
Naomi Osaka made a coaching change, taking on Jermain Jenkins, but couldn’t defend her desert title. BB
Wolfgang Puck baked Federer a special dessert to celebrate his 100 titles (we bet he didn’t eat it – he’s on a champion’s diet you know). BB
Is there anyone more loved than the Swiss maestro? BB
Rafa has played impeccably this tourney, but saw the trainer for a right knee problem Friday during his match against young Russian Karen Khachanov. BB
