Tennis is changing. The landscape of the American game is shifting, and in the years to come, increasing attention will be paid to the village of Lake Nona near Orlando, Florida. The USTA is building a huge, state of the art national campus unlike anything in the world of tennis. And the USPTA is moving their headquarters to the site.

The USTA, USPTA Florida, Mid Florida Tennis Association and Lake Nona Realty recently cosponsored a quarterly Tennis Industry Meeting at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club. The gathering drew more than 100 of Central Florida’s top tennis professionals. Speakers at the event included USTA Player Development head Martin Blackman.

One highlight of the event was the first guided tour of the USTA’s National Campus at Lake Nona. Blackman and Tavistock Development Company sports ventures VP Andy Odenbach shared their vision for the campus as a new home for American tennis, open to enthusiasts, beginners and future stars alike. The tour also expanded beyond the campus to include Lake Nona’s growing communities, such as Medical City.

So stay tuned tennis enthusiasts, this emerging Florida mecca could change the game.
